Shell999 Badminton — Best BWF, Thomas Cup & Malaysian Player Odds

For Malaysians, badminton is far more than just a sport. It's part of who we are — from Lee Chong Wei carrying the nation's pride on his shoulders for over a decade, to the new generation led by Lee Zii Jia, Aaron Chia, and Soh Wooi Yik who continue to fly the Malaysian flag on the world stage. When the Malaysian team competes in the Thomas Cup or Uber Cup, the whole country stops to watch. And that's exactly why the badminton section at shell999 is one of the most active on the platform — because it brings together the passion of Malaysian fans with real winning opportunities.

Shell999 covers over 200 badminton matches every month from across the BWF circuit. This includes all BWF World Tour events — from the prestigious Super 1000s down to the Super 100s and smaller international series. Team events such as the Thomas Cup, Uber Cup, and Sudirman Cup receive full coverage, with every individual tie available for betting. For domestic tournaments, the Perodua Malaysia Masters gets special attention with broader betting markets and highly competitive odds compared to other platforms.

One of the things that makes badminton betting on shell999 so appealing is the range of markets on offer. Many players new to badminton betting only know about the outright winner market — and that's perfectly fine to start with. But once you're more familiar, you'll find that set handicap, over/under, and In-Play markets often offer better value in many situations. For example, when Lee Zii Jia faces a lower-ranked opponent, the odds for an LZJ win might be just 1.30 — not particularly exciting. But a -1.5 set handicap on LZJ could return odds of around 2.10, which is far more worthwhile if you're confident he'll win comfortably 2–0.

In-Play badminton betting on shell999 is a genuinely thrilling experience. Unlike football where you bet based on time elapsed, badminton moves fast and momentum can swing within just a few points. Picture Lee Zii Jia losing the first set 18–21, but you notice him turning more aggressive in the second set and leading 15–10. At that point, the "LZJ Win" odds that were once 1.30 might now sit around 1.75 as the system accounts for the fact that the match is still open. That's a value opportunity you can only capture through In-Play — and shell999 gives you the best platform to do exactly that, with odds updated every second.

Being able to watch a match and bet on it at the same time is one of shell999's biggest advantages. The platform provides live streaming for selected badminton matches directly within the app — no need to open another tab or hunt for a broadcast on YouTube. This means you can assess the match conditions yourself before making In-Play betting decisions, rather than relying solely on the scoreline. For badminton fans who know how to read a player's body language and attacking patterns, this is a significant edge.

Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik are the men's doubles pair most frequently picked by bettors in shell999's badminton section. Ever since their bronze medal win at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, their popularity as a betting pair has grown enormously. Their record against Chinese and Korean pairs on the BWF World Tour is highly encouraging, and shell999 players who follow them closely often find good value in the odds when this pair faces top opponents in the early rounds of a tournament — before the market prices them too low.

Ng Tze Yong is a name that's been coming up more and more in Malaysia's badminton betting community. The 23-year-old plays with a remarkably defensive and patient style — a trait that often unsettles top-ranked players who are used to closing out matches quickly. In several recent BWF tournaments, Tze Yong has defeated multiple top-10 players in the world, including a major upset against Japan's Momota. shell999 players who back Tze Yong against higher-ranked opponents often find odds exceeding 3.00 — and the results frequently surprise.

In women's doubles, Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah are firm fan favourites in Malaysia. Their aggressive, fearless style against higher-ranked pairs makes their matches ideal for In-Play betting. When they're at their best, this pair can take down opponents from any country — including China and Korea, who consistently dominate the women's doubles category. shell999 always offers odds for their matches from the group stage right through to the final.

On the financial side, shell999 ensures the smoothest possible deposit and withdrawal experience for Malaysian players. Using DuitNow, Touch 'n Go eWallet, GrabPay, Boost and ShopeePay, you can top up your balance instantly from your phone. Once the Thomas Cup match ends and Malaysia wins, your winnings are credited to your shell999 wallet within minutes and can be withdrawn to your bank account via FPX or directly to your e-wallet. A fast and hassle-free process — perfect for sports fans who don't want to deal with complicated procedures.
